The Loretta Johnson Global Abstinence Project, founded by Kim Wilson, promotes Abstinence especially to Black and Hispanic women and girls in all 50 states in the U.S. and world-wide. Based on Kim's experiences and research, she strongly believes the only 100% method to avoid the problems that come with pre-marital sex, such as increase in out-of-wedlock pregnancies; HIV/AIDS; poverty; neglected children; abortions and many other problems, is ABSTINENCE. Unfortunately, this solution to the problem is not promoted nearly enough to women and girls in Black and Hispanic communities, who need it the most, which has led to a horrible present and future for too many women/girls and children, as well as the breakdown of Black and Hispanic families.
The Loretta Johnson Global Abstinence Project, which was founded over 3 years ago, as a part of God’s Active People/G.A.P Ministries, which was also founded by Kim Wilson, over 20 years ago (based in Peachtree City, Georgia/Atlanta area), began by sponsoring a workshop, entitled “Experiencing God's Best for Your Life through Abstinence”. This workshop is being presented throughout the United States and on 3 continents and over 20 countries, to approximately 10,000 women and girls each month by Kim Wilson and other presenters in North America, Africa and Asia.
Based on many requests, Kim then authored and published a book last year, entitled “The ABSTINENCE Handbook: for Women and Girls throughout the World” for the purpose of reaching, communicating and promoting the benefits of Abstinence to Black and Hispanic women and girls in the United States, as well as sub-Saharan Africa and world-wide. This book is helping an abundance of Christian churches and ministries to help promote Abstinence in their churches and communities, by giving this book to women and girls through their Youth Ministries; Church Services; Women’s Ministries; Singles Groups; Community Outreach (by mail or door-to-door); Bible Studies, etc. “The ABSTINENCE Handbook: for Women and Girls throughout the World” is designed to be quick- to-read and easy to follow and is already available in paperback, Audio Book CD, and Spanish version to make it applicable for various reading levels; educational backgrounds; and language barriers.
Although The Loretta Johnson Global Abstinence Project started by presentation of the workshop, “Experiencing God’s Best for Your Life through Abstinence” that is now being presented to thousands of women and girls per month; and many of “The ABSTINENCE Handbook: for Women and Girls throughout the World” books are being distributed, this is still a small percentage in comparison to all the women and girls in the United States and world-wide, who need to know why and how to practice Abstinence and the purpose of these conferences is to continue to reach, teach and motivate many thousands and even millions more women and girls to practice Abstinence.
In order to accomplish this goal to broadly and more effectively increase the reach and promote Abstinence to more Black and Hispanic women and girls, The Loretta Johnson Global Abstinence Project Conferences 2015 will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia. The purpose of this conference is to teach and train Youth ministers; Christian leaders and anyone else who can benefit from this conference (from all Christian denominations and organizations) to learn how to effectively promote, motivate and teach Black and Hispanic women and girls how to avoid having sex before marriage and many of the problems that can take or ruin their lives and the lives of too many children before it is too late.
